I want to leave you with a few social media posts that struck a chord with people recently:

I’m not sharing these to show how ‘popular’ and ‘cool’ I am on social media… maybe just a little:)

But I want to make sure the lessons are not lost on you, so imma break down the main marketing principle going on here…

If you’re a coach, consultant, or expert service provider, you better take this to heart:

“People buy PEOPLE before they buy products and services.”

You need to promote both on social media — you and your business.

But the MOST important one is you. Not your business.

If you dedicate your social feed just for business stuff, just try LinkedIn or get ready for crickets.

If you dedicate your social feed just for memes and petty posts, you may end up swimming in “engagement” and wondering “where are the sales at?”

You must do both. And here’s why…

➊ Bad clients weed themselves out.

Guess what? Our business is a reflection of me and Drae.

Your business is a reflection of you.

If people don’t like you, they probably won’t like doing business with you.

And we want to find that out as soon as possible! If they don’t like me on social media, they won’t like me in our programs!… and that’s totally cool.

The catch here is that you must be FULLY you.

You can’t put a façade on social media. It’s not good for your reputation, and It’s not good for your business.

➋ You get to try marketing angles for free.

If you put out a message and get a ton of comments, heart reactions, shares…

Guess what?

That will probably do well as an ad!

Even if it’s funny, polarizing, tear jerker… ads don’t always have to look like ads. Try several angles in your posts, take the best ones and run them as ads. You might be surprised.

➌ People keep hearing about you.

If people don’t know you exist, they can’t buy from you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, the opposite of love is not hate. It’s indifference.

If they love you, good. If they hate you, good (remember, clients weed themselves out). But if they are indifferent towards you… no sales for you.

That’s why we insist on emailing and posting daily.

People may not be ready to work with you today… but they might tomorrow… or in 6 months.

If they stop hearing from you, they’ll buy from someone else.

If they keep hearing from you, then you stand a chance.

Make sense?

Alright, hope you found this valuable…

Going back to chilling mode now!
