I remember the story of John Henry from elementary school, however, I just made the connection of how his story ties to business.

Let me explain…

John is said to have worked as a “steel-driving man”—a man tasked with hammering a steel drill into rock to make holes for explosives to blast the rock in constructing a railroad tunnel.

John Henry’s prowess as a steel-driver was measured in a race against a steam-powered rock drilling “machine”, a race that he won only to die in victory with hammer in hand as his heart gave out from stress.

There’s so much to unpack from this as an entrepreneur…

However, the one I want to focus on is this…

YES, it’s possible for you to WORK and get the task done…

And you may even be able to do it FASTER in some cases…

However, what’s the ultimate cost of you DOING IT ALL, vs. leverage machines (automations) and systems!

So a question to ponder on this Marvelous Thursday morning is simple…

What areas in your business are you working too hard?

Where can you delegate, automate or flat out eliminate?

Make a list of the three categories, fill them in, and start chipping away.

You’ll be glad you did it.
